Repair or replace,
said honestly.

A failed unit on the hottest week of the year is the easiest thing in Florida to oversell. The honest question is whether a repair gets you three more seasons, and it is often yes.

What we do

Four services, diagnosed before quoted

Licensed contractor, EPA-certified refrigerant handling. We quote repair alongside replacement, always.

How it works

How we work

Diagnose before quoting, offer the repair, calculate the load, pull the permit, and never promise savings.

Diagnose first

The fault identified before any price is discussed.

Repair quoted too

Alongside replacement, with the arithmetic.

Sized by calculation

Not by matching the unit coming out.

Permitted and verified

Inspection completed, charge and airflow checked.

How we work

A licensed Florida contractor, and no savings promised

HAMIA LLC is a limited liability company registered in the State of Florida, document number L13000065255, filed in 2013. Work is carried out under DBPR contractor licence [FLORIDA HVAC CONTRACTOR LICENCE NUMBER], and technicians handling refrigerant hold EPA Section 608 certification.

Two things we will not do. We will not quote a replacement without telling you whether a repair is viable and what it would cost — a dead unit in July is the easiest sale in Florida and that is exactly why it deserves an honest answer. And we will not promise an energy saving or a payback period: efficiency ratings come from standard test conditions, and what your bill does depends on the building, the ducts, your usage and the weather.

Frequently asked

The questions we get most

My unit died and I have been told to replace it. Is that right?

Sometimes, often not. Capacitors, contactors, clogged drains and dirty coils account for a lot of midsummer failures. Get the fault diagnosed and the repair priced — a free second opinion costs you nothing.

Why does sizing matter? Surely bigger is better.

No. An oversized system cools quickly, shuts off, and never runs long enough to remove humidity, so the house ends up cold and clammy. Sizing comes from a load calculation for your building.

Will a new system cut my bill in half?

We will not promise a figure. Efficiency ratings are measured under test conditions, and your actual consumption depends on the building, the ductwork, your usage and the weather.

One room never gets cold. Do I need a bigger unit?

Usually not. Test the ducts first — leaking attic ductwork delivers cooling into the attic rather than the room, and that is frequently the whole explanation.

Do you need a permit to swap my system?

Yes, where the local authority requires one, and we pull it. A replacement done without a permit can cause problems at resale and with insurance.

What happens to the old refrigerant?

It is recovered, not vented. That is federal law under Section 608, and our technicians are certified for it.

Been quoted for a replacement?

A free second opinion, including whether a repair would get you a few more seasons.
